Vyf Gautengse vroue swem stroomop deur die lewe. Hulle kom uit baie verskillende wêrelde: Daar’s ‘n uitgebrande chirurg, ‘n bedroefde tipe A-prokureur, haar opstandige studentedogter, ‘n oorgewig, oorstelpte huisvrou en ma van drie, en ‘n vreesbevange jong data-analis in haar liefde verlaat.
Hulle beland saam in groepsterapie vir die traumas wat die lewe hulle onlangs opgelê het, en deel van die terapie is ‘n river rafting-ekskursie op die woeste Oranjerivier. Wanneer hul manlike gids daar in groot moeilikheid beland, moet dié vyf diep verskillende vroue saamspan, verby hul eie probleme en struwelinge kyk en die gevaarwaters sónder hul gids aandurf – of hy, en hulle, oorleef dalk nie.
